Take me out to the ball game........

I love baseball season and being able to sit in the bleachers and cheer for my guy # 5. As I was growing up I was athletic, playing basketball and volleyball but I never dreamed I would be such a big fan of baseball. I love being outside watching the little boys have so much fun on the field.

Kaleb daddy and Mason have all enjoyed going to watch the Kansas City Royals play....although their record isn't the best Kaleb is becoming quite a huge Royals fan. Mason on the other hand is staying true to his roots and is a die hard Rangers fan. I think he just likes going for the BIG HOT DOGS!!!

Anyway I guess I will have many many days at the ball park if all three of my boys like playing ball. TAKE ME OUT TO THE OLD BALL GAME!!!

Sigh Tear...Look who's A YEAR!!

Oh what a bittersweet day today was. My baby boy Luke is officially no longer a baby as he turned the big ONE YEAR old today. What a fast year it has been but definatly one of many laughs, kisses, hugs, bumps, bruises, and tears. I have enjoyed watching Luke grow from an infant to a toddler, and have given thanks to the Lord everyday for the joy he has brought to our family. He gets so much love from his big brothers, and as I watch them play and laugh together I can't help but fast forward to the days when they are grown and playing with their own children. Okay no wait lets go back...I want to keep them little forever!! Seriously I hope that they are brothers that are friends for life!

Well I hope that the next year of Luke's life brings so much more to our lives...to think that in only 364 days he will be TWO! Will be having a small family party for him on Saturday for him to get down and dirty with cake!! YUMMY....will post more later.

Spring Break w/o the SPRING!!

Well we managed to make it to "spring", but are still wondering where it is. Texas really spoiled us, and we are not adjusting to this mid-west weather very well. Okay so Clark can't stand not being able to wear his shorts year round, and I am dying to break out the flip-flops!! So for our spring break we decided to go stay at a lodge in Kansas City...whew the drive was torturous!! LOL Anyway it was fun letting the boys loose in the big indoor water park. At least we got to pretend that the weather was spring/summer like. They had a blast and as worried as they were that the Easter Bunny wasn't going to find them, that was all water under the bridge when they woke to Easter baskets on their hotel beds!! We are so thankful for that day and are forever grateful for His love.

What he's 8 already?

Yes the 28th was bittersweet in the fact that my first born baby turned 8 (yes EIGHT!!) However I am so proud of the young man he is growing up to be. I still can't get over how fast time goes, and I know that I will soon be writing a post about him getting graduating from high school. I just hope that at that point I can stand back with the tears in my eyes and know that I did the best job I could in raising him to be a follower of Christ. As his birthday has come and gone now I can only ask the Lord to make me more aware of the important things in life and cherish ALL the moments in Kaleb's life because we only get this one very quick opportunity to do it. I thank you Lord for all that you have created in my little Kaleb. Oh and yes I don't care if my husband makes fun of me, I don't care how old my boys get....they will ALWAYS be my babies!!

Kaleb Scored!!

Well today was the last game of the regular season for Kaleb and his basketball team. Up until the game this morning they were the only undefeated team in their division. Also up until today's game Kaleb had not scored any points!! (So sad to see him get so down on himself after each game he didn't get to score any points for the team). It doesn't help when there are a couple of ball hogs on the team that don't like to share the ball. Anyway this has been a rough season for him, but I just have to remind him that it is all for fun (although Clark gets a little to loud in the stands) the main point is for him to learn and enjoy his time on the court. It was a normal Saturday morning getting ready for the game, and I was doing Kaleb's hair (his trademark spike) and I asked him if today was the day? He knew what I was asking and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know." I looked him straight in the eyes and put his skinny cheeks in my hands and said "It sure is...I just know it!" He smiled and we went on our way. He was given the perfect opportunity in the second quarter to shoot a basket and he made it! It was like God was holding everyone away just so he could get that one shot in! It was a magical moment as he looked over at me and winked!! So sad that he dad has been dying to see that moment and he was gone for Drill weekend and he missed it! Such a wonderful feeling for a mother to see her son shine even if it is for only a second or two! So now they are first seed in playoffs so maybe Kaleb will get another chance to make some more shots (and dad will get to see them). It has been a great day....we are so greatful.

2-4-08

Yeah we are all finally well again! Started out with Clark (always does). The Kaleb started getting a cough and sore throat...then it was Mason's turn. This past weekend we had to take Luke to the E.R. as he woke up in the middle of the night having a hard time breathing, weazing and coughing. Turns out we had no idea he had croup or an ear infection....he showed NO signs of being under the weather. He is always a happy go lucky baby and now we know he remains that way even while being sick! Just have been praying I can stay clear of it all as there is nothing worse than being SICK and still having to be a mother and wife. So far so good...we will continue to pray. The boys are loving their nights at Awanas and Kaleb earned his vest and handbook last week. Mason earned his the week before (the requirements are easier for the little kiddos) but he recieved his first patch last week. SO PROUD OF THEM BOTH. Luke is about to walk...although he is a speed crawler and into everything already there really isn't a need for him to learn how to walk! Clark is plugging away at work with less than 20% of his goal remaining for the year!! How awesome is that? SO AWESOME. I am well trying to keep afloat raising my little boys...wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Well till next time...take care.
